Body Fluids Categories.

Ascitic Fluid - The serous fluid which accumulates in the peritoneal cavity in ascites. |

Blood - The body fluid that circulates in the vascular system (BLOOD VESSELS). Whole blood includes PLASMA and BLOOD CELLS. |

Body Fluid Compartments - The two phases between which water and other body fluids are distributed: extracellular and intracellular. |

Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid - Fluid obtained by washout of the alveolar compartment of the lung. It is used to assess biochemical and inflammatory changes in and effects of therapy on the interstitial lung tissue. |

Nasal Lavage Fluid - Fluid obtained by irrigation or washout of the nasal cavity and NASAL MUCOSA. The resulting fluid is used in cytologic and immunologic assays of the nasal mucosa such as with the NASAL PROVOCATION TEST in the diagnosis of nasal hypersensitivity. |
